Don't always do what other people want you to do. Do what you want. Now don't be selfish. But don't be to selfless. That is just a crime to yourself. This can be kicking a soccerball, reading a book, getting me do to do your website, or anything that is fun or relaxing to you. Leave your comments on how you relax.
Today, when I ponder "the good things in life," exercising comes to my mind. Now, in life, we are given one body. I think of my body as my vehicle through life. Just as you need to take care of your car by getting it serviced frequently, you also need to take care of your body. If you are too young to drive or have a car, you may not yet appreciate my "vehicle" metaphor but I think you know what I mean. Throughout my life, I have exercised on and off - - mostly "on." I find that when I routinely exercise and try to take care of my body, I feel much healthier and have much more energy. Exercising has many benefits: (1) keeps you at a good, healthy weight; (2) makes your muscles stronger; (3) gets rid of your stress; (4) provides you with energy; and (5) helps speed up your metabolism throughout the day (this kind of relates back to #1). How could you deprive your only vehicle, your body, of all of these benefits? Now, I know that some people find exercising "boring" or "not fun." But, I feel that they haven't found the right kind of exercise for them. Exercising doesn't have to be boring. In fact, it can be tremendous fun. For me, I LOVE to dance. So when I exercise by dancing, I have so much fun because I get to dance, listen to great music and make my body feel so much better. For you, it may be playing a sport like soccer or basketball. Or, if you are an outside person, it could be running, hiking or biking. I believe that there is some form of exercise out there that you can enjoy! Okay, I have been told that my short blog is getting rather long so I will sign off for today. Just remember - - if you want to take care of your body and feel good as you move throughout your day, EXERCISE. I have never heard anybody say, "Oh, I wish I didn't exercise today." It is something you will never regret and will help you to continue to enjoy all the good things in life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would appreciate any comments about how you incorporate exercise into your daily life and what forms of exercise you recommend!
